I create large-scale, semi-abstract landscapes that explore the beauty and quiet strength of the place I call home. My work is both an expression of gratitude and a personal response to the natural world that surrounds me—vast skies, open space, and the shifting colors of the land. Working at a large scale allows me to experiment freely with color, shape, texture, and contrast. I begin with broad brushes and sweeping blocks of paint to establish movement and form. From there, I build the surface in layers—chalk pastels sealed and fixed, oil paint, spray paint, and masked areas—each layer responding to the one beneath it. The process is intuitive and physical, creating depth and history within the surface until the piece resolves and feels complete. Through these layered landscapes, I hope to offer viewers a moment of stillness. In a fast and chaotic world, my work invites pause—a sense of peace, calm, and quiet reflection. At its core, my practice is guided by gratefulness: a reminder to notice the beauty around us and to find serenity in simply looking.
